Good location
Right on the beach; about a 15-minute drive to Charleston - room was quite adequate - had a guest computer - good breakfast

The property was built in 1985 and features 132 oceanfront guest rooms throughout 9 floors. We are a 3 star, 3 diamond hotel. We have more rooms with two beds than we do rooms with king beds. Advanced reservations are highly recommended to secure a king bed. Our in-house reservations office is open from 7am-11pm daily. We have 6 handicap accessible rooms, all with King beds and all adjoin to a room with two beds. Other adjoining rooms may be requested but cannot be guaranteed. As the Holiday Inn Folly Beach, we underwent a $5,000,000 renovation to all our common areas. The lobby, which was once dark and enclosed, is now open with wall-to-wall windows. The restaurant was once nothing more than a lounge where few guests and fewer locals came to have a quiet drink. Now, BLU is featured throughout Charleston and praised for its view of the ocean, its atmosphere and, most importantly, the culinary styling of Jon Cropf, Executive Chef. We added an on-site sweet treat shop called the Sugar Shack, a fitness room and an outdoor tiki bar. We also renovated every guest bathroom and foyer with granite fixtures, and curved shower rods in the tubs. Now we move forward as the independent Tides Folly Beach with our final stage of renovations! Beginning January 3, 2011, we will be remaking all the guest rooms. New carpeting, fresh paint, new beds, desks, chairs, tables, fixtures, mini-fridges, and 32" flat screen televisions will be the standard. We are very excited and know you will be too with the all new Tides Folly Beach!In January of 2012, we completed yet another phase of renovations that included a deep spring cleaning of the entire hotel and restaurant. New color schemes were adopted, new pool furniture installed, and a whole new vibe including energentic lobby and pool music! As of April, 2012, We Proudly Serve Starbucks Coffee in our new in-house coffee shop, Roasted!
